This was my first (2015) solo piano composition and is based on improvisations recorded from a Yamaha keyboard. I then re-worked the takes in my Digital Audio Workstation.
The title is a reflection of the piece which begins in a classical mode and then just when you think it will continue it changes direction.
Time never stops, until…
In my youth, infinity seemed a long way off
Today, its presence looms ahead ever larger
Not that I fear Death, just the pain that often accompanies it
I heard about how time is measured
as the time it takes a photon
To travel a Planck Length.
A time even shorter
than the memory of a goldfish
Time can never stand still,
Until the universe stops,
that is, we think.
